How it works
Gig drivers are self-employed, so the tax is self-employment tax plus income tax on profit. Most drivers deduct the standard mileage rate, which covers gas, wear and depreciation.
For 2026 the IRS rate is 72.5¢ per mile for January through June and 76¢ from July 1. Enter your miles for each half of the year. Miles to the first pickup count when you're logged in and working.
